ADULT OIL PAINTING CLASSES
SPRING 2025
Welcome to a series of Oil Painting sessions designed for open-minded and flexible adults! These classes are ideal for anyone who would love to spend time painting and exploring form, value, colour, technique and flow in the art studio. You do not need to have any previous experience in either drawing or oil painting to enjoy these classes- simply come as you are and unlock your hidden potential! I will guide you through these processes and set you up for success in a supportive, learning environment.
Each class offers a fresh new lesson in oil painting that leaves room for interpretation, expression and creative license yet offers a gentle framework to turn to and a visual place to land when needed... so no one feels lost at sea. In each class, you can bring fresh new energy, perspectives and ambitions. Classes are designed to make oil painting accessible, fun and beautiful so you can experience the richness of painting and leave with an artwork that inspires you.
Your materials will be provided during this session to help make this experience convenient and easy for you. Simply show up to paint! Together we will start developing both language and understanding of the oil painting process. Classes finish with a gentle critique to help us learn and grow together. Throughout 4 classes, we will explore these classic art forms, sip tea together and soak in the creativity together at the studio. In these classes, I will share my love of flow in both painting and drawing in my beautiful studio with you.
In this session we will turn to the softness and pastel qualities of spring colours for an inspired palette.
INVESTMENT: $355 + HST
STUDIO TIME: 11AM-1PM (2 hours)

DATES:
Class 1: Thursday March 27, 2025. In depth, tonal oil under-painting of still life, living spring flowers in vase. In your choice of either burnt sienna or permanent rose. *This class will prep us for the following full colour classes.
Class 2: Thursday April 3, 2025. Still life, living spring flowers in vase. Quick underpainting and full colour lesson.
Class 3: Thursday April 10, 2025. 2025. Still life, living spring flowers in vase. Quick underpainting and full colour lesson.
Class 4: Thursday April 24, 2025. Still life, living spring flowers in vase. Quick underpainting and full colour lesson.
MAKE-UP CLASS: Thursday May 1, 2025. Students who miss a class are welcome to come to this make-up class. Students who miss more than 1 class do so at their own loss.
Because everyone has a different feeling about inclement weather, If the roads are closed and we are experiencing a severe storm, class with be rescheduled. If the roads are open, class will remain as scheduled.
All class materials are provided.
If chilly weather is upon us, please bring slippers and a not precious sweater. THE STUDIO IS LOCATED IN AN OLD BUILDING.

REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AFTER THE 7 DAY BOOKING PERIOD. YOU ARE ABLE TO TRANSFER YOUR SPOT TO A FRIEND IF YOU CAN NO LONGER ATTEND THE COURSE. STUDENTS WHO MISS CLASS, DO SO AT THEIR OWN LOSS.
