family painting studio sessions
where Connecting with your family feels like pure magic.
I get asked all the time about family art sessions. With busier than ever lives, I’ve made it easy to claim creative time as a family unit by tending to all the prep and expertise from a seasoned artist. Sessions are gently guided by me and are only available by special appointment.
This workshop includes your choice of stretched canvas, a guided lesson in underpainting and access to a limited oil palette. This session begins with setting an intention for the painting. Family members work collaboratively to tap into all of the goodness of the joy of painting as you create a contemporary work of art for your home. Please be open to varying dynamics as they show up throughout the creative process.
This experience allows you to play, connect and feel inspired with your loved ones. It also calls you to be open to a collaborative vision, flexible with your ideas and invites each family member to participate and make valuable contributions to the artwork. Imagine all of the creative tingles. This session invites you to work collaboratively, loosen up [aka not control the experience] and surrender to the magic your family has to offer. This workshop is an excellent opportunity for parents to connect to their own inner child while being inspired by their own cool kids. I truly believe that our children are our biggest teachers.
All of this magical creative energy gets trapped in your painting. What a beautiful gift for your family and a total opportunity to add meaningful art to your home. The experience is well matched with a family masterpiece. Paintings are abstract in nature.

1 HOUR SESSION
Create an oversize painting in this 1 hour block of studio time. Watch as your canvas transforms and capture the creative energy with your family. The studio is set up when you enter so you can get right into the paintings. Participants are required to clean their brushes and palettes (just like all of my painting classes) nearing the end of the session. Please wear art-friendly clothes as sometimes paint cannot be washed off clothing. Aprons are available to use as well.
Workshop includes: 1 hour of guided studio time, all materials provided. Up to four family members. For additional family members a $25 + HST per person fee applies. Paint colours vary and additional fees are required for requests for specific colours if I need to order something special in for your session.
Workshop Pricing Options:
$500 + HST → includes a 30”x24” canvas (landscape) or 24”x24” canvas (square).
Canvases are gallery wrapped professional grade and fully stretched- so you can hang your painting up without investing in custom framing or stretching of canvas. Canvas must be taken home at the end of the workshop, please be prepared to transport the wet canvas with garbage bags to lay flat onto of or cardboard. Canvas cannot transport sitting upright.
All skill levels are welcome. Spaces are limited. Pre-registration is required. It is recommended that you prebook session 4-8 weeks in advance.
