If you are a local Thornbury babe, you'll know that I'm a frequent Thornbury beachgoer and we've likely seen each other on a sunny day. I'm also one of the brave ones who takes the plunge in June and stops swimming in October like a local nutbar. And it's all for a deep love of the crystal clear and sometimes even turquoise waters of Georgian Bay. So whether you fancy a nice sailboat swoon in Honey Harbour, a skinny dip at Peasemarsh or splish splash in Killarney, I'm willing to bet Georgian Bay is a total gem to you too.
I am beyond excited to introduce this uniquely local and unbelievably stunning new Batik Adult Workshop. Imagine the studio smelling like a pot of melting honey. Your body will warm up as we soak in the beeswax and stir up our creativity. Each workshop guest will discover a hand-cut, hand-sewn canvas waiting just for them. Each canvas will be prepped with a drawing of Georgian Bay, drawn just for you by me! Because let me tell you, maps are tricky buggers.
And speaking of maps, this beautiful piece of canvas will transform into an even more beautiful wall hanging. It will invite you to tell a story about your home, your cottage, your most precious childhood memories. And it's here to remind you that we are surrounded by beauty.
So let's put the "great" in The Great Lakes friends! Join me for a truly sensational workshop at my studio. We will listen to pretty music, sip some delicious tea in good company together and say "hey" to the artist that lives inside all of us. I will guide you through the workshop while you transform from the thoughts and feelings of "what the heck is Batik" into "I'm a GD art star!"
