KIDS CERAMICS SUMMER ART CAMP

This handbuilding clay camp is focused on creating functional pottery like mugs, bowls, planters and wind chimes. Campers can expect to learn about pottery handbuilding techniques and glazing from professional ceramics artist Kirsty Wilson.

PROJECT MENU
MONDAY: Slab Bowls + Mugs + Coil jars
TUESDAY: Planters + Candle Holders
WEDNESDAY: Nature Impression Wall Hanging
THURSDAY: Marionette Wind Chimes
FRIDAY: Painting and Glazing

STUDIO TIME: 9AM-3:30PM
PRICE: $295+HST

LOCATION: The Imagination Studio 

THE IMAGINATION STUDIO has teamed up with local artist and teacher Kirsty Wilson. Kirsty is an artist and educator that specializes in ceramics.  She has a Bachelors of Education in Multi-aged Visual Art Education from the University of Toledo and has spent time studying ceramic design as a student artist at the Glasgow School of Art and Dundas Valley School of Art. She currently teaches in the Bluewater District School Board. In her own work, she focuses on the Canadian landscape and uses images to help depict moments of wonderment found in nature. Kirsty has been teaching the visual arts for over ten years and believes that creativity and innovation shape new ideas and create confidence in individuals.

*Pottery pick up will be the first week of September as the clay requires firing. You will receive an email notification about pottery pick up details. 


CAMPERS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS DAILY:

  • Sunscreen 
  • A Large Water Bottle 
  • Lunch + Snacks 
  • Sunglasses (recommended) 
  • Hat (recommended) 
  • Paint friendly clothing(recommended) 
  • Comfy Walking Shoes
