This holiday season, I wanted to find something just as beautiful and just as fun to offer as a workshop for those of us who appreciate not only a good craft/art night but also a love for feeling festive. And well, it is with a full heart that I can say I have fallen in love with making Kissing Balls- and I know you will love love love them too! "Hold the Flat!" you Good Grief'er might be saying, "What the heck is a Kissing Ball anyway?" In my own words, a Kissing Ball is a truly beautiful way to bring a festive bit of forest inside your home, and offers you a quirky and thoughtful means of showing some good ol' love during the holidays. 

You see, long before it became a tradition to set up a Christmas Tree, it was custom for the English to hang these beautiful Kissing Balls from somewhere in the hallways. in 19th century Victorian homes, this elegant holiday decoration dangled under arches and doorways. As the name implies, any lady who wandered underneath it would be kissed by the nearest gentleman. 

Many festive holiday decorations, including wreath-making, have interesting origin stories. One thing is for sure,  while these traditions have evolved the custom of hanging wreaths, garlands, Christmas trees and Kissing Balls, is still incredibly popular and heart-warming. 

Join me at Good Grief Coffee Roasters in Thornbury to try your hand at making your own stunning kissing ball. These look absolutely stunning hanging in windows, from the porch outside or in your hallway, living room kitchen, or wherever you fancy a little smooch. 

This workshop also includes a delicious Good Grief Peppermint Mocha from the gurus of Thornbury coffee!

INCLUDES: All materials, instruction + a peppermint mocha!
INVESTMENT: $60 + HST + a $20 Kit Fee to be paid Cash Only to Good Grief upon the start of the workshop.
