2023 MARCH BREAK PAINTING CAMP

three days of beautiful studio based painting classes, to spark joy, inspire creativity and carve out time for fine art.

Inspiring fun and creativity, March Break Painting Camp offers your kiddo 3 days of delicious mixed-media painting classes to fill their creative cups! Working in layers, students will build upon one final art piece approaching their work using different techniques, themes and processes each day. Our inspiration will be nature, specifically, a forest habitat and students will dive seep into their imaginations by bringing their own unique forest to life. Students will explore the use and application of acrylic paints, watercolour paints, and components of drawing and collage.

Finished work will look and feel like a frame-able illustration.

These classes focus on a process-based painting and drawing approach and stylized representation (in your kiddos own unique and fabulous style). We will turn to contemporary picture book illustrators for inspiration in this camp. From mushroom houses to tree canopies, to forest flora and fauna, there is so much potential for students to explore.KEY LEARNING:

CAMP INCLUDES: Painting substrate, all materials, guided instruction and studio time. Aprons will be provided to students.

STUDIO TIME: 9AM - 1PM

AGES 6-12

STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS DAILY:

A BACKPACK WITH…

★ a litter-less lunch + snacks

★ full large water bottle

★ slippers + a sweater are recommended for the winter studio classes

★ art friendly clothes (some paints does not wash out)

★ outdoor gear appropriate for the weather

★ a curiosity to learn
