A NEW WAY FOR YOUR CHILD TO FILL THEIR CUP
SUMMER OIL PAINTING WITH ASHLEY IS A SERIES OF NATURE AND STUDIO BASED PAINTING CLASSES
KINDA LIKE THE GROUP OF SEVEN FOR KIDS
Mornings feel magical as we ground into our easel space, close our eyes and notice the sounds of nature all around us. The world is beautiful. Our creativity is so moving. Now it’s time to reach for the stars and become the young painters our hearts feel called to be.
Together in our painting community, we will learn traditional oil painting techniques, colour theory, self-expression and all the fancy artsy things that will help unlock your child’s creative potential. Each day we will complete different components of our painting, starting fresh each morning. Students will be guided through specific painting compositions and bit by bit we will transform a blank canvas into a beautiful expression of landscape/nature inspired painting. Art that lasts a lifetime. And yes! Your kids will create beautiful oil paintings in these workshops!
Each day will feel like it’s own special occasion as we paint among the trees and in the fresh en plein air.
These are carefully curated painting experiences so we can maintain a cohesive learning rhythm and problem-solve collectively.
LOCATION: Cedar Grove Labyrinth, Thornbury (in good weather) or The Imagination Studio in Clarksburg in stormy, windy or rainy weather. We will be flexible as the weather will determine our painting locations. It is not uncommon to receive an email the night before camp to clarify the location and confirm if we will be painting outdoors in nature or ☂︎ inside at the studio in the event of rain or a thunderstorm.
Three day camps are awesome because it gives families total weekend and long weekend flexibility without missing a day of camp!
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
✬ Access to artist quality oil paints, specific oil brushes, wooden palettes, oil mediums and spirits, easels, artist canvas +/OR substrates and supplies
✬ Aprons will be provided for use during classes
✬ Guided instruction, mindful leadership, an inspiring young painting community, INTUITIVE play time, friendship and memories that’s last a lifetime ♡
STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS DAILY:
a backpack with…
★ a litter-less lunch + snacks
★ full large water bottle
★ comfy shoes
★ art friendly clothes (oil paint does not wash out)
★ outdoor gear appropriate for the weather
★ a curiosity to learn
★ sunscreen
★ backpack to carry gear

CAMP HOURS: 9AM-1PM
NOTE: Due to the daily set-up required for the set-up of these classes please do not drop children off before 8:55am (5 minutes before classes start).

These painting classes require your cool kid to participate within in the flow and rhythm of the class. It requires a lot of focus, concentration and a group commitment to work through the painting process. If you child prefers a more free range experience [and hey I get that!], this isn’t the art program for them. We will have a beautiful nutrition break daily when free play and unstructured time in nature is encouraged and nurtured to balance our art-making experience. Kids need to be comfortable in the great outdoors and dress for the weather.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
REFUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR CUSTOMERS WITHIN THE FIRST 7 DAYS AFTER REGISTRATION. PLEASE NOTE A $100 NON-REFUNDABLE BOOKING FEE WILL BE APPLIED TO ALL REFUNDS WITHIN THIS TIME. REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AFTER THE 7 DAY BOOKING PERIOD. IF BOOKING FOR SUMMER CAMP, ANY BOOKINGS RECEIVED AFTER JUNE 1ST ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND THE 7 DAY GRACE PERIOD IS VOID. THIS IS TOO CLOSE TO CAMP START DATES AND CONSIDERED LAST MINUTE BOOKING FOR US. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE GIVEN AFTER THE 7 DAY BOOKING PERIOD, AND NO ADJUSTMENTS, CREDITS FOR FUTURE SERVICES OR POSTPONEMENTS WILL BE MADE FOR CANCELLED, MISSED OR PARTIALLY ATTENDED CLASSES. THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO IF YOUR CHILD IS SICK OR IF THERE ARE SCHEDULE CONFLICTS. WHILE THIS IS INDEED A BUMMER, YOU HAVE COMMITTED YOUR CHILD’S SPOT AND THE IMAGINATION STUDIO IS UNAVAILABLE TO ABSORB THESE BUMMERS, AS WE HAVE BEEN HOLDING YOUR CHILD’S SPOT AND PREPARING FOR SERVICES AND INVESTED TIME AND ENERGY INTO REGISTRATIONS, MARKETING EFFORTS ETC. IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL YOUR CHILD’S CAMP ATTENDANCE/COMMITMENT: PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO THE IMAGINATION STUDIO OUTLINING THAT YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ATTENDING. CANCELLATIONS THROUGH ANY OTHER MEANS INCLUDING THROUGH THE WEBSITE OR GOOGLE CALENDARS ARE NOT VALID. YOU MAY SUBMIT BY E-MAIL TO THE IMAGINATION STUDIO A REQUEST TO TRANSFER YOUR CHILD’S SPOT NO LESS THAN JUNE 1ST OF THAT PROGRAM YEAR. REQUESTS SUBMITTED AFTER JUNE 1ST WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE NOTE THAT REQUESTS FOR TRANSFERS (BEFORE JUNE 1ST) DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT YOUR CHILD’S SPOT WILL BE FILLED AND THAT YOU MAY RECEIVE A PARTIAL REFUND. WHILE WE DO OUR BEST, PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT WAITLISTS OR OUR CAPACITY TO TEND TO YOUR CAMP REQUESTS. PLEASE NOTE IF YOUR CHILD’S SPOT IS FILLED, AND THERE IS CAPACITY FOR THIS ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS, YOUR NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE RETURNED. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT REQUESTS FOR TRANSFERS ARE SUBJECT TO ADMIN AVAILABILITY. YOU MUST REQUEST A CAMP TRANSFER FORM BY EMAIL FOR ANY VALID INQUIRIES.
