SUMMER OIL PAINTING WITH ASHLEY IS A SERIES OF NATURE AND STUDIO BASED PAINTING CLASSES
KINDA LIKE THE GROUP OF SEVEN FOR KIDS
Mornings feel magical as we ground into our easel space, close our eyes and notice the sounds of nature all around us. The world is beautiful. Our creativity is so moving. Now it’s time to reach for the stars and become the young painters our hearts feel called to be.
Together in our painting community, we will learn [real deal] painting techniques, colour theory, self-expression and all the fancy artsy things that will help unlock your child’s creative potential. Each day we will create an entirely new painting, starting fresh each morning. Students will be guided through specific painting compositions and bit by bit we will transform a blank canvas into beautiful expressions of landscape/nature inspired paintings. Art that lasts a lifetime. And yes! Your kids will create beautiful oil paintings in these workshops!
Each day will feel like it’s own special trip as we tiptoe our way through different painting locations in the Beaver Valley and The Blue Mountains or paint in the beautiful studio. We will be flexible as the weather will determine our painting locations.
Each week of Oil Painting with Ashley offers different painting compositions, so if you child just loves to paint, they can join in on multiple camp weeks if they want! These are carefully curated painting experiences so we can maintain a cohesive learning rhythm and problem-solve collectively.
LOCATION: Various. Parents will be emailed a Welcome to Camp package with specific painting class locations subject to weather conditions. All locations are approximately within a 15 minute travel radius of the studio. ☂︎ On rain days, we will enjoy the painting classes at The Imagination Studio in Clarksburg. Some nature locations may be remote and kids might need to nature pee if public bathrooms are not available.
Three day camps are awesome because it gives families total weekend and long weekend flexibility without missing a day of camp!
WHAT’S INCLUDED:
✬ Access to artist quality oil paints, specific oil brushes, wooden palettes, oil mediums and spirits, easels, artist canvas + substrates and supplies
✬ Aprons will be provided for use during classes
✬ Guided instruction, mindful leadership, an inspiring young painting community, INTUITIVE play time, friendship and memories that’s last a lifetime ♡
STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS DAILY:
a backpack with…
★ a litter-less lunch + snacks
★ full large water bottle
★ comfy shoes
★ art friendly clothes (oil paint does not wash out)
★ extra masks
★ outdoor gear appropriate for the weather
★ a curiosity to learn
★ sunscreen
★ hand sanitizer (optional)
COVID-19 Public Health measures in place. Students must wear a mask unless they have a medical exemption.
COIVD-19 SPECIFICS
The studio and washroom will thoroughly be sanitized after each class
Students will be required to wear a mask as directed by the Grey Bruce Pubic Health Unit (CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO) and follow the Town of The Blue Mountains mask bylaw (CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO).
Students will not share materials and instead have their own tools to use during classes
Frequent hand-washing is required throughout the class and upon arrival
Hand sanitizer is always available at the entrance of the studio
Parents must screen their children following Public Health Guidelines before entering the studio CLICK HERE for access to the digital screening tool
All student desks are situated in their own independent work station, siblings may share a studio desk
We are committed to social distancing whenever possible
Drop-off and Pick-up procedures in place
Social distance markers have been placed on the floor to help guide participants visually
In the event of a mandatory shut-down, classes will transform to a digital platform and art kits will be provided
Contact tracing in place
Students will experience programming within their assigned group only
EMERGENCY COVID-19 ILLNESS OR SUSPECTED ILLNESS PLAN: Your child's health will be monitored. Students who display or express symptoms will not be allowed to attend class. During the program, if a participant becomes sick, they will be immediately isolated from others and parents will be notified to pick them up within 30 minutes. If you cannot pick up your child within the 30 minute time window you MUST have your emergency contact pick up your child within this time.

CAMP HOURS: 9AM-1PM
These painting classes require your cool kid to participate within in the flow and rhythm of the class. It requires concentration and a group commitment to work through the painting process. If you child prefers to run free all day [and hey I get that!], this isn’t the program for them. We will have a beautiful nutrition break daily when free play and unstructured time in nature is encouraged and nurtured to balance our art-making experience. Kids need to be comfortable in the great outdoors and dress for the weather.

CANCELLATION POLICY: FULL PAYMENT IS DUE AT THE TIME OF ENROLMENT. REFUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR CUSTOMERS WITHIN THE FIRST 10 DAYS AFTER REGISTRATION. PLEASE NOTE A $75 NON-REFUNDABLE BOOKING FEE WILL BE APPLIED TO ALL REFUNDS. CANCELLATIONS MADE WITHIN 30 DAYS OF THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP (CAMP START DATE) ARE NON-REFUNDABLE BUT ARE TRANSFERABLE. PLEASE CONTACT THE IMAGINATION STUDIO NO LATER THAN 7 DAYS BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE CAMP TRANSFER FORM. WE REQUIRE A COMPLETE TRANSFER OF CAMP REGISTRATION FORM FOR THE TRANSFERRED PARTICIPANT TO VALIDATE THE TRANSFER 7 DAYS BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF CAMP. TRANSFER REQUESTS SHOULD BE RECEIVED IN WRITING TO THEIMAGINATIONSTUDIOMAIL@GMAIL.COM.CHILDREN WITHOUT COMPLETED TRANSFER OF CAMP REGISTRATION FORMS BY PARENTS/LEGAL GUARDIANS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CAMP.
