ART + DRAMA CAMP
Celebrate the arts with this visual and performance based art camp! The Imagination Studio has joined forces with Brittany Knight to offer a week of visual art and theatre lessons, activities and exploration. This camp will boost your child's self confidence and enhance their artistic expressions.
THE ART EXPERIENCE:
The mornings are dedicated to visual arts with instructor Ashley Green, Owner & Creative Director of The Imagination Studio. From painting in the studio to a special drawing lesson in a beautiful pear orchard, Ashley will teach your children new art techniques to help nurture their creativity. Together, we will learn new painting, drawing and sculpture fundamentals to enrich enrich your child's visual expression and spark interest into their own areas of discovery. We will take advantage of sunny days and spend out time both in the studio and also in nature.
THE DRAMA EXPERIENCE:
Get ready to escape and get carried away by two magical tales that campers will bring to life in a final performance! We will explore and adapt “The Emperor’s New Clothes” and the Zulu (African) tale “Where Stories Come From” into a newly woven, modern adaptation full of puns, magic and fun. We will get creative with building characters, playing drama games, integrating music and movement, using tableau and mask, fabric and face paint to build worlds we can only imagine together.
From a web of lies to a web of stories, we will discuss the world around us and wonder who the Emperor might be? And what are “spirit people”? Come join us for a week of creative adventure this summer!
